Recently Rael and I met with the president of an organization and other professionals. As we walked them through the 15 essentials of Penta Global one of them got really excited and said, “I want to take your class!” Some of these professionals are transitioning in their careers, some are going through a transition with family and they feel that there is conflict on the way.
They were excited to hear that Rael and I ask questions, we don't necessarily provide answers. We believe that everyone has the answers inside of them. And it is our task to Socratically extract those answers from them. We do this by helping the participants focus on artistic endeavors such as music, cooking, collage, painting, jewelry making, poetry. As their heart engages with the art form, their brain relaxes and opens up. So when you ask a question, as difficult as it maybe, it is not like you are asking them point blank, eye to eye, staring at their face. Which would elicit shame, or defensiveness, maybe even a “none of your business.” But when you ask a question while they are engaged artistically, the dynamic changes dramatically.
Rael and I have consulted with conflict resolution academics at top universities and we were told that this is an emerging field and that it is very important. They are excited about what we are doing because it is not art therapy, which is a well studied field. People are eager to take our class.
